School Closure: Information 04/01/2021

Urgent Update for Parents/Carers: 04/01/2021 at 9.15pm

Dear Parents/ Carers

Within the last hour, you will have heard the announcement from the Prime Minister regarding the national lockdown in England from midnight tonight.

As you will be aware, this means that Meadow Vale Primary School will be closed until further notice to all pupils, except for those who are deemed vulnerable (those with social workers and those with Education, Health and Care Plans) and for children who have parents who are identified as critical workers.

The most up to date list of critical workers can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Over the course of the next day or so, we will need to gather the evidence of your critical worker status but completely understand that this simply is not possible before tomorrow morning.  Therefore, I know that I can rely on your support to ensure that we only have the children on site tomorrow who meet this criteria and whom cannot be cared for at home.

If you intend to send your child to school tomorrow because they are deemed vulnerable or are the child of a critical worker, you must send the following information to covid@meadowvaleprimary.com

Name of your child/ren:

Class:

Occupation:

Name of employer and address of employer:

I respectfully ask that you do not email me directly at the present time with this information, due to the level of other information that is coming into me.

For children who will not be attending school tomorrow, I would ask that you look at the school’s website for learning ideas whilst the team at Meadow Vale put together the remote learning plan for all children moving forwards.

I promise to be in touch with all families again tomorrow, once I have had the opportunity to meet with the staff team and discussed the plans with the school’s governing board.

Yours sincerely

Catherine Forrester - Headteacher
