Policy & Guidance on the Provision of Special Diets in Schools

A copy of the Policy on the provision of special (medically prescribed) diets in schools can be read below.

A copy of the Special Diet Referral Form is included below which can be printed off, completed and returned to school.

Vegetarians DO NOT need to complete a form as this is for food allergy sufferers only.

Nut allergies can cause serious reactions and ISS have a Nut Policy in place which can be read below.

Over recent times we seen an increase in the number of children who have varying forms of nut/peanut allergies. As a result of this we have had to make the decision to become AS NUT FREE AS POSSIBLE at school. Please can you ensure that all packed lunches do not contain any form of nut/peanuts, this includes peanut butter, chocolate/cereal bars containing nuts, and any other product that contains a nut in any form. Whilst we appreciate this may cause an inconvenience, we have to consider the welfare of all children and have a duty of care for them. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

IMPORTANT Information from September 2012:  If your child will be having a school meal (from September 2012) please find below the latest information from ISS regarding their Special Diet Menu. If you feel that your child requires the Special Diet, please complete in full the referral form (supplying a photo of your child and a copy of the GP referral letter) and return to the School Office.  Thank you.
