Week 06- Beginning 11th May
Monday 11th May - Equivalent fractions.
Good morning, Year 3! I hope you have a lovely long weekend and enjoyed the sunshine! Today, you will be revising equivalent fractions which you were all confident with before we started learning from home!
Please watch ‘Lesson 5-Equivalent fractions’ using the following link (scroll down to the bottom of the page and click week 2 tab):
Pause the video when it tells you to and try to calculate the answers- you can do these in your head or jot notes down in your books.
Once you have watched the video, download today’s work. There are 3 levels available – mild (Set A), spicy (Set B) and hot (Set C). We do not expect all of the questions for your chosen set to be completed as there is a lot there. Try to use the methods you have seen in the video to help you calculate your answers!
Have a great start to the week!
Tuesday 12th May - Adding and subtracting mastery activities.
Good morning! We have revised all the topics we have covered so far in year 3 already. Now, each day, there will be an activity set based on one of the many topics which we have revisited over the weeks!
Today, you will be putting your adding and subtracting knowledge to the test! On the link below, you will find a variety of questions for you to complete. Choose as many or as little as you would like to do. Remember to write your workings out and answers in your book.
Wednesday 13th May - Recognising the place value of each digit in a 3-digit number.
Good morning! Today, you will be using your place value knowledge. This session is split into two halves.
- The first half consists of you answering some questions which are set at different levels – mild (Set A), spicy (Set B) and hot (Set C).
- In the second half, you will be consolidating your place value knowledge through a variety of games.
Do as much or as little as you want, and if you find the set you start off with too easy, move up a level, and if you find it too difficult, move down! 😊
Have a great day!
Thursday 14th May - Calculating amounts of money using both £ and p.
Good morning! For today’s learning you will be using your converting knowledge to calculate amounts of money using both £ and p.
On the worksheet, there are examples at the top for you to use if you can’t quiet remember the conversion rules!
As a little treat, there is a money magic trick which you can learn and carry out for your parents! (This is optional).
